Brim is an established fintech company based out of Toronto. Brim built a credit card infrastructure and digital platforms to bring much needed innovation to the cards space in Canada. Brim’s tech stack merges the two verticals of Credit Cards and Rewards/Loyalty in real-time. Brim’s infrastructure is live at all merchants worldwide. Since launching our first suite of credit cards in Canada in mid-2018, we continued to grow our presence, rolling out Brim’s B2B platform and partnering with FIs, Fintechs and large corporates to rollout market leading product platforms.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Design Lead to guide Brim’s design culture across all of its digital products and brand communication channels. With a passionate approach towards design and user-oriented products, we are looking forward to bringing abord a fluent team manager with an extensive understanding of strategy, planning, implementing and managing digital products and marketing design. This leading role should be able to master UX/UI and graphic design disciplines, and requires a strong end to end experience on translating business requirements, generating ideas and visual concepts, executing design, as on delivering finished work assets for production on online and offline platforms. As a hands-on leader you will be also managing a team of designers, responsible for briefing, allocating resources, dividing workload, critiquing design, providing feedback, hiring and leading them on Brim’s design vision and culture. Strong communication skills are mandatory for this role, as to discuss and seek common ground with different departments of the company and work closely to the product and marketing managers by collaborating and articulating strategy for project rollouts. Technical knowledge aligned with the ability to collaborate, give creative direction and turn work around quickly to meet deadlines are fundamental in our exciting fast-paced and collaborative environment.

This is what you’d work on:

• Conceive and implement concepts, guidelines and strategies in various creative projects and oversee them to completion
• Conceptualize and share new ideas for standardizing and improving product UX and UI designs
• Guide vision and design strategy for product and brand channels
• Conduct team meetings, design critique sessions and manage day to day workload
• Participate in briefs and group meetings and work closely with the product, marketing, as well as Brim partners teams (e.g., Uber Eats, Hello Fresh etc.)
• Develop and maintain a consistent brand presence throughout all of Brim’s content, marketing, creative and digital platforms
• Research, test and propose new innovative design solutions to UX and UI for Brim products
• Design Brim brand assets, as welcome kits, stationery, correspondence and other print collaterals
• Translate business requirements and create mock-ups and visualizations for presentation and pitch decks
• Review projects and provide feedback to ensure design integrity for all platforms and deliverables

What you must have:

• Diploma in Design, Marketing, Advertising or related field
• 6+ years working experience as a Lead Designer in an enterprise, agency or consulting environment
• Strong experience in UX activities such as designing flows, wireframes and prototyping
• Experience on end-to-end design projects from concept to implementation (print and digital)
• Excellent production skills on Adobe Creative Suite
• UX/UI knowledge, Sketch/Figma and prototyping proficiency
• A portfolio showcasing your work and design skills
